Super HL5 $5299 pr
Harbeth's Super HL5 is capable of fantastic performance - producing breathtaking transparency, a huge soundstage and total immersion in the performance. The speaker creates a rich bass and sweet midrange that brings acoustic music alive. This is the sixth-generation of Dudley Harwood's HL-Monitor which launched the Harbeth brand in 1977 when he left the BBC's Research Department to form his own company. Retaining the classic 'two cubic foot' proportions found in the very best BBC monitors, the HL5 relies on the exclusive Harbeth-made 200mm RADIAL™ bass/mid driver. This produces a big, warm and powerful sound that underpins the incredible midband clarity. At the highest frequencies, the 20mm main tweeter is augmented by a SuperTweeter - combined these result in an extended, smooth and even dispersion right to the upper edge of the audio band. The cabinet is engineered in the BBC tradition of 'thin-wall' panels with removable front and back panels for a totally true-to-life sound.

Monitor 30 $4299 pr
Developed as a BBC studio loudspeaker, the Monitor 30 has a well-rounded sound which has made it a huge success in the home market too. Sharing its drive units with the reference Monitor 40.1, sonically and visually the smaller M30 disappears into the home listening room . Engineered around Harbeth’s RADIAL™ technology, the Monitor 30 achieves effortless clarity throughout the midrange with a well controlled bass that brings music to life in a wide range of listening environments. Initially developed as a drop-in replacement / upgrade for the BBC LS5/9 studio monitor, the convenient proportions and well rounded sound soon led the Monitor 30 into the domestic market where it has been acclaimed as the 'perfect all-rounder'. Compared with its big brother Monitor 40.1, the cabinet is only about half the height and a quarter the volume; the Monitor 30 sonically and visually disappears into a domestic listening room when mounted on matching stands.

Monitor 40.1 $12499 pr
This reference monitor takes the best of the original Monitor 40 even further with a tight, dynamic and incredibly revealing presentation at moderate listening levels. The speaker is completely transparent and paints a totally addictive, totally neutral, 3D holographic sound stage. This flagship Harbeth was developed from the revered Monitor 40 that was widely used in sound editing and broadcasting around the world. The inspiration of the design concept was the BBC LS5/5, the world's first plastic-coned three-way loudspeaker. Although originally developed for professional use in BBC control rooms, the Monitor 40/40.1 has been adopted as a home reference system. The in-room smoothness of response is excellent and in a suitable environment a controlled and realistic bass response down to 25Hz is possible. It's not easy to ascribe a sonic characteristic to the Monitor 40.1, nor does it have one. Perhaps the concept "three dimensional curtain of sound" says it all.
