Not many places of this size, 100,000, can say they've had both Elton John and Yo Yo Ma in the same week. Activities abound. Cultural activities especially so.

This photo was taken at the annual Arts Fair held in Waterloo Park.

You just never know who is going to turn up, like legendary Rob Szabo singing in front of an appreciative crowd.

Crowd? What crowd?

I have friends in Toronto who tried 3 unsuccessful years in a row to get to the Beach Jazz Festival.

At the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival you simply drive up, park, walk in and grab yourself a beverage and a seat.

I'm a subscriber to The Jazz Room. Invariably performers will first compliment the venue, which was the result of a collaboration between a local hotel, a local jazz society and local sponsors. Then they will compliment the audience. I once heard the leader of a quartet say, "If I thought you were going to listen to us we'd have practiced harder".
Featuring world-class talent the styles of jazz presented are as diverse as is the audience. This is a No Talk venue. Patrons of The Jazz Rooom are here to listen to the jazz and only the jazz. You've been forewarned.
